Diver Requirements

Advanced Open Water certification is required. Divers must have excellent buoyancy control and proper trim. The minimum age is 15 years.

Dreamgate

Welcome to “Stalactite City,” as I usually call this dive, because Dreamgate is filled with amazing formations throughout both dives. It is also part of the Sac Actun System and is located a few kilometers past the entrance to Ejido Jacinto Pat, home of the Dos Ojos system.

Dive into the upstream section, where you can challenge your buoyancy while admiring beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and fossils embedded in the rock. Along the way, you can also notice a subtle halocline coming from deeper inside the cave system.

Next, explore the downstream section, where you can admire a spectacular laser of light entering through one of the openings in the ceiling. Swim among beautiful columns while small molly fish follow you through the cavern, often attracted by your dive lights.

Maximum depth on both dives: 20 feet / 6 meters.
